The 41M Turán II is a Hungarian tank.
Description[]
Realising that a 40mm gun was largely inadequate for its 40M Turán I medium tank, the Hungarian army requested for an upgunned version without drastically changing the other aspects in order to speed up development. The result was the 41M Turán, also known as Turán II or Turán 75, and the vehicle was classified a heavy tank not by its total mass, but rather based on its main gun's calibre. The short-barrelled 75mm gun was only a modest improvement over the original 40mm gun in terms of penetration. And despite plans to develop the tank further with a better gun in the form of Turán III, yet with production gradually shifting to 43M Zrinyi II assault guns, the Turán II soldiered on until the end of the war due to the military's desperate need to replenish losses in battles.
The Turán II in BattleGroup42 has slightly better anti-tank capability over its predecessor, but it is still poor against most Soviet tanks that it has to face, especially head-on. For self-defence against infantry, the tank has a 8mm Gebauer machine gun in coaxial mount, and another in the front hull.
It can be found on maps such as 4404-Galicia Campaign, 4410-Debrecen, and 4411-Towards Budapest.
