For historical information, Wikipedia has an article on Attacker-class escort carrier.

The Attacker-class escort carrier is a British aircraft carrier.

Description[]

The Attacker-class was a subclass of the Bogue-class, a series of 45 escort carriers based on a merchant ship design and commissioned between 1942 and 1946. 31 of these ships were received by the Royal Navy under the Lend-Lease Act, and the first batch of eight ships was called the "Attacker-class". These aircraft carriers had space for a maximum of 28 aircraft and proved to be excellent in their intended roles: to provide close air support to convoys and landing operations. No Attacker was lost in combat.

There are two variants for the Attacker-class in BattleGroup42, which differ in their aircraft complement according to their intended role: An "escort" version with fighters and anti-submarine aircraft, and a "strike" version with fighters and bombers. For self-defense, the ship is armed with four twin-barreled Bofors 40mm guns and two 4"/50 caliber guns.

The aircraft carrier also has a "hidden" 7th position in the lift station, which can be found towards the aft of the ship underneath the deck. It is used to lift the third aircraft to the deck level. Upon exiting this position, the player will appear on the deck level.

The Attacker-class can be found in multiple maps set across different theatres of war, such as 4205-Operation Ironclad, 4306-Operation Corkscrew, and 4506-Oboe Six.
