BA-64 is a Soviet armoured car.
Description[]
Inspired by German armoured car designs such as the Sdkfz 222, the BA-64 was developed to replace older Soviet interwar designs, and became the main Soviet armoured car in the second half of the war. More than nine thousand were built by the end of production in 1946. Initial production model used GAZ-64 chassis, whereas the improved BA-64B used GAZ-67 chassis.
The BA-64 in BattleGroup42 has one crew position, where the driver has access to single Degtyaryov DP-28 machine gun, as well as the ability to spot targets for friendly artillery. However, the vehicle is only lightly armoured, and the sole crew position in open turret renders the user somewhat vulnerable to small arms fire, and so the vehicle should mainly be used for reconnaissance and ambushes.
It can be found on maps set after mid-1942.
