The Douglas C-47 is a transport aircraft of American origin.

The Douglas C-47 Skytrain served the United States and other Allied nations as troop and cargo transport throughout the war. A military derivative of the Douglas DC-3 airliner, the C-47 became one of the most important aircraft for the Allies throughout the war.

In Battlegroup42 the C-47 acts as a mobile spawn point where soldiers can spawn and parachute down to enemy positions. Since it is unarmed, it relies on friendly fighters to obtain air superiority in order to maximize its safety.

It can be found in maps such as 4302-Heavy Water and 4504-Operation Herring where paratroopers play an important role. In 4309-Battle for Lae it is also available to Australia should they capture the Salamaua airfield on the south-west corner. Groups of C-47 can also be found flying over the skies in 4503-Operation Varsity as moving props.

The aircraft's model is based on the original Battlefield 1942's C-47 Skytrain.
