KV-8 is a Soviet flamethrower tank.

Description[]

The KV-8 is a flamethrower tank variant of the KV-1 heavy tank. It is equipped with an ATO-41 flamethrower in the turret, and to make room for the flamethrower, the original 76.2mm ZiS-5 gun is replaced by a 45mm M1932 (19-K) anti-tank gun fitted in a 76.2mm calibre barrel to maintain its original appearance. While not historically accurate, the coaxial DT machine gun is not available due to engine limitations, but the other machine guns at the front of the hull and at back of the turret are retained.

The flamethrower is devastating to enemy infantry, bunkers and light vehicles, but it can overheat easily.

A small number of KV-8S were also produced in the war, based on the KV-1S variant. Armaments are the same as the KV-8.

The tank can be found in urban maps such as Stalingrad.

Trivia[]

Although KV-8S was mentioned, it was not included in the mod but the HUD icon was displayed in MOB clan's BG42 content list.
