Pantserwagen M.36 is a Dutch armoured car of Swedish origin.

Description[]

The Pantserwagen M.36 is the Dutch designation for the Landsverk L-181, an armored car of Swedish origin and based on a German Daimler-Benz chassis. The Dutch army purchased 12 of them in 1938 along with 13 very similar Landsverk L-180, which were given the designation Pantserwagen M.38. Both types saw action during the five days struggle of the Netherlands against the overwhelming German army, especially in guarding the airfields. They performed so well, that the surviving vehicles later have been pressed into German service. The main armament of the M.36 is the Madsen 20mm cannon, which has a good rate of fire and is comparable to the 20mm autocannons used by the German armoured cars. The Dutch variants of the L-181 were mostly refitted with the 37mm Bofors anti-tank gun, which was also used on the Landsverk L-180, the successor of the L-181. In Battlegroup42 the M.36 retained the 20mm gun to distinguish it from the M.38. It is also equipped with three Lewis machine guns: one in the coaxial mount in the turret, one at the front of the hull, and one at the back of the hull.

Similar to Pantserwagen M.38, the M.36 is thinly armoured. One should use the armoured car's speed and maneuverability to best the opponents.

It appears in scenarios set in May 1940.
