Italy is one of the Axis nations of World War Two.
The participation of Italy in the war was characterized by a complex framework of ideology, politics and diplomacy, in which its military history took place often heavily influenced by external factors.
Over the course of the war, Italy fought in various theatres of war, including North and East Africa, Eastern Front, as well as various locations in Europe. Many did not come with good results, and eventually putting the Italians in the defence, including in their home country by 1943.
The Italians appear on a number of maps, facing France (including Free France, United Kingdom, Greece, United States, Canada, and Soviet Union. They also appear on the Allies side for one map against Germany in 4504-Operation Herring.
