The LVT(A)-4 is an American amphibious fire support.

Description[]

The LVT(A)-4 was the second kind of the "amtanks" after the LVT(A)-1, and it too was based on the LVT-2 Water Buffalo. Its main armament, however, was changed to a 75mm M2 or M3 howitzer in an open-topped gun turret from M8 Scott, which offered better direct fire support against soft targets and fortifications over the LVT(A)-1's 37mm gun.

In BattleGroup42, the LVT(A)-4 functions as an amphibious light tank, and is launched from the side of Allied warships. The 75mm howitzer fires explosive shells with a low arc, which are deadly to groups of infantry thanks to their area of effect splash damage. Additional anti-infantry measures come in the front of a bow mounted M1919 Browning machine gun and a M2 Browning machine gun on top of the turret. The vehicle is only lightly armoured, however, and is vulnerable to anything greater than small arms fire.

It can be found in various maps set late in the war, such as Iwo Jima and 4508-Yamashita Treasure, as well as the fictive postwar scenario 4701-Antarctica.
