The LVT-4 Water Buffalo is an American amphibious transport.
Description[]
The LVT-4 Water Buffalo was the most numerous variant in the Landing Vehicle Tracked family. By moving the engine to the front and adding a ramp to the rear, it was a remarkable improvement over the LVT-2 Water Buffalo, boasting greater capacity as well as facilitating loading and unloading in operational use. It saw use both by the Marines in the Pacific theatre as well as the the British in Europe in the later years in World War II.
In BattleGroup42, the LVT-4 Water Buffalo is somewhat heavily armed for a lightly armoured transport, featuring one M1919 Browning machine gun in the hull as well as four M2 Browning machine guns on pintle mount for self-defence against enemy infantry and low flying aircraft. Although it is resistant to small arms fire, the vehicle is still vulnerable to high calibre weapons, and the passengers can still receive gunfire in the open-topped compartment. The driver can raise or lower the ramp at rear by holding down the up or down directional key respectively.
Examples can be found on port side of the Essex-class aircraft carrier in 4508-Yamashita Treasure.
