The MP 40 is a German submachine gun.
Description
The Maschinenpistole 40 was a further simplification to the MP 38, featuring more extensive use of stamped metal to reduce production cost and to meet the great demand for close range automatic weapon for the German forces. Despite plans to replace the weapon with the revolutionary StG 44, the MP 40 stayed in production and service until the end of the war.
In Battlegroup42 the MP 40 generally serves as the primary weapon for the German assault class in the early scenarios and German medic class in the late war scenarios.
