The Morane-Saulnier M.S.406 is a French fighter.

Description

One of the most numerous French-built fighter aircraft during WWII, it became a "poster boy" for Armée de l'Air's fighter aviation and the M.S.406 attracted interest by foreign countries, but only Finland and Switzerland became the export customer with the latter are under license production. When commencement of hostilities began, it was immediately outclassed by Luftwaffe's Messerschmitt Bf 109 and after France capitulated to Germans through armistice, Vichy France operated the fighter in overseas territories both in the Mediterranean, Madagascar and French Indochina, while some were transferred by Germany to it's allies and co-belligerent Finland with a more successful career against Soviet aircraft.

During its brief appearance in BattleGroup42 the M.S.406 only served as a placeholder using an older render of LaGG-3, until it was replaced with a more definitive model of French fighter aircraft in the form of Bloch MB.152 starting version 1.6 onwards.
