The PIAT is a British anti-tank weapon.
Description
The PIAT was developed to replace the obsolete Boys anti-tank rifle, which proved to be ineffective against the increasing armour of newer tanks. It was based on the spigot mortar for launching a hollow-charge warhead, which left no muzzle smoke and hence removed the danger of revealing the user's position.
In Battlegroup42 the PIAT is the primary weapon for the British and Canadian anti-tank class in scenarios set during the second half of the war. It is also used by the Italian anti-tank class for 4504-Operation Herring.
