For historical information, Wikipedia has an article on Type 92 heavy armoured car.

Type 92 Heavy Armoured Car is a Japanese tankette.

Description[]

The Type 92 was developed as a tracked reconnaissance vehicle in an effort to mechanise the Japanese cavalry. As traditional tanks were controlled by infantry, the vehicle was labelled "heavy armoured car" for use in cavalry to avoid stirring up sectionalism within the Japanese army. Variations in production models existed, which can be distinguished by their suspensions and armament. Although later succeeded by the Type 94 tankette, the Type 92 remained in service for the Japanese forces stationed in China and Korea until the end of the war.

The Type 92 in BattleGroup42 represents a late production model, which has four road wheels and two return rollers for suspension. It is armed with a Type 97 light machine gun in the turret and a Type 92 heavy machine gun in the front hull. Both guns are effective against infantry, while the latter can also be used against lightly armoured vehicles with its armour-piercing rounds.

It appears in maps prior to 1941, such as 3706-Kanchatzu Incident and 3908-Khalkin Gol.

Trivia[]
