For historical information, Wikipedia has an article on Vosper 73 ft motor torpedo boat.

The Vosper MTB is a British torpedo boat.

Description[]

The Vosper 70ft. motor torpedo boat (MTB) series has been developed after an unofficial specification of the British Admiralty from 1936. This demanded a fast attack vessel with at least 40 knots of speed and a main armament of two 21 inch torpedoes. Existing vessels could only travel at max 33 knots and had 18 inch torpedoes. Vosper & Co. won the contract with a design that featured a V-shaped hull bottom instead of the stepped hull of earlier boats. This gave the boats significantly better seakeeping qualities and manoeuvrability for the sake of a reduced maximum speed. To compensate this, powerful Isotta-Fraschini engines have been chosen for propulsion, giving the Vosper 70ft. a maximum speed of 43 knots fully loaded. As Italy went into war with Britain, the Isotta-Fraschini engines became unavailable, so after a stop gap solution with much less potent Hall Scott engines new Packard engines were used, giving the Vosper back its speed and agility. Vosper MTB of the 70ft. series have been build in several variants, varying in hull length (69,5 to 73ft.) and secondary armament, with several 0.303 inch and 0.5 inch machine guns as well as 20mm cannons in different numbers and mountings. A total of 311 boats were produced, 129 in Britain and another 182 by Elco in the USA. They were also delivered under the Lend-Lease-Act to the Allies such as the Free French, the Royal Netherlands Navy, the Royal Indian Navy and the USSR, which alone received 121 boats.

In BattleGroup42, the Vosper MTB has two torpedo tubes for high damage output, as well as an Oerlikon 20mm gun for self defense. Unlike other torpedo boats, the mines are deployed on the boat's sides. When destroyed, a small two-seat raft spawns in its place for the crew to escape.

It can be found in maps such as 4204-Channel Patrol.
